The following is a list of the most recurring questions from our guests.

Facilities
- Is there Wi-Fi?
- Yes. The password is displayed in each room.
- Is there a smoking room?
- No. Ikoisanso is a nonsmoking inn.
- Is there a smoking area?
- Yes. There is a smoking corner just outside the main entrance.
- Is the guest bath a natural hot spring?
- No. The water is pumped in from the aquifer, heated up to the perfect temperature and poured onto medicinal maifan stones.
- When is the guest bath open?
- It’s open 24 hours a day, except when being cleaned.
- Are inn facilities based on Universal Design?
- Unfortunately not. Please tell us in advance and we’ll do our best to meet your needs.
Reservations & accommodations
- When is the deadline for a same-day room reservation?
- We accept same-day room reservations until 9pm each day.
- Is there a cancellation fee?
- Cancellation policies may vary depending on the rate or dates of your reservation. Please refer to your reservation confirmation to verify your cancellation policy.
- What are the check-in and check-out times?
- Check-in time is between 3 and 10pm, and check-out is at 10am. The inn’s main entrance is open 24 hours a day.
- Is an early check-in or late check-out possible?
- You can check-in early but may have to wait for the room to be cleaned. Guests arriving early can leave their luggage at the reception desk. For late check-outs, we charge \1000 per hour after 10am.
- What amenities are provided by the inn?
- Each room has a bath towel, bathrobe, face towel, toothbrush and other items for each guest. Those with a private bathroom have a hairdryer, shampoo and other amenities. Guests using a common bathroom may use a hairdryer and amenities provided in our guest bath.
- Can the inn accommodate conferences, training seminars and group stays?
- Yes. The inn can be reserved to accommodate groups of up to 70 guests. There’s also plenty of space outside for a barbeque or even a camp fire!
Access & pickup service
- How can I get to the inn?
- You can get here by car, public transportation or by taxi. We are conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from Naka-Karuizawa Station. For details, please refer to the “Access” link on this website.
- Is there a pickup service?
- Yes. We have a free shuttle bus from Naka-Karuizawa Station. Pickup service is available from 10am to 6pm. Please reserve in advance.
Payment
- Which credit cards do you accept?
- We accept all major credit cards and other electronic payment settlement methods.
- Do you accept gift certificates?
- Unfortunately not.
- I’d like to pay for accommodation as a gift. Is it possible to pay for someone else?
- Yes, but payment must be made in advance.
Dining
- When is dinner and breakfast served?
- Dinner is served between 6 and 8pm, and breakfast time is 7:30 to 9am. Please tell us what time you’d like your meals when you check-in.
- Are there special meals for allergy sufferers?
- Unfortunately not, but tell us in advance and we’ll do our best to meet your needs.
- Is there room service?
- Unfortunately not.
- Is there a place for lunch at the inn?
- Unfortunately not. We do not serve lunch.
Rental and complimentary items
- Are there rental bikes?
- Yes. You can rent a bike for \1000 per hour. We have a limited quantity so book yours in advance.
- Are there complimentary items?
- Yes. You can borrow one of our rubber hot water bottles and mobile phone chargers. Please inquire at the reception desk.
Kids
- Can kids and babies stay at the inn?
- Absolutely. Tatami rooms are great for small kids. One child aged 5 or under can stay for free, but we charge \1500 for two or more kids that age. Children aged 6 and over are charged regular room rates.
- Is there a kids menu?
- Unfortunately not. Kids aged 6 and over are charged regular meal prices.
- Are there any amenities and complimentary items for kids?
- We have baby futons, kids’ bathrobes, baby bath chairs, diaper disposal bins and more. Quantities are limited so please reserve in advance.
Others
- Can pets stay in the room?
- Unfortunately not. Pets are not allowed in guest rooms.
- Is there a massage service?
- Yes. On request we can arrange a massage service.
- Is there an overnight emergency hotline?
- Yes. Please inquire at the reception desk.
